about
Tryambakam (the one with the third eye) is a piece of layered musical improvisation by sunswan.
This track was created in order to reflect the ancient tale of Mahadeva, or Shiva (God of Destruction), incinerating Kamadeva (God of Desire) with his third eye, turning Kama to ashes instantaneously and destroying the spirit of love throughout the cosmos, leading to the creation of an afflicting atmosphere across the lands.
After a request from Parvathi (Goddess of Harmony), Mahadeva prays with her, leading to the birth of Murugan (God of War), who is the only one who can defeat the demon Tarakasura, restoring peace and love to the world. Kamadeva is later reincarnated as Pradyumna, son of Lord Krishna and Rukmani.
I believe this tale of destruction and rebirth is one that reflects what we are going through in present day in many different ways. I hope the energy of this track can exist as an auditory mirror, one that reflects the difficult experiences that we have all gone through this year.
Thank you for listening; Please be safe.
Album coming this Winter.
